The Science Of Arm-Mor

Tech Details:

Arm-Mor is a proprietary finish developed specifically for firearms, formulated for its unique qualities. Think of it as genetic engineering of the ultimate firearm finish.

As we were in the R&D stage we tested finishes from all over the world, noting the strengths and weaknesses of each. Some were close to what we were after, but all had one or more flaws that detracted from them being perfect.

Testing each of our formulations first for durability, second for appearance and then for lubricity led us to the Arm-Mor formulation.

As we approached the perfect finish, we had the good fortune to have sacrificed nothing in our quest. Our selections of the best (read: most expensive) components had rendered a coating that no other product that we had tested could approach.

The result is ARM-MOR, a catalyzed finish containing ceramic micro spheres and the finest lubricants in a micron scale application. Not an epoxy base, not a thermal cured finish, Arm-Mor is truly catalyzed, although we do bake at a moderately low°F temperature only to final treat the finish.

Arm-Mor is the only finish that incorporates ALL of the following

Adhesion is excellent.
Lubricating qualities are superb.
Wear qualities are outstanding.
It is a finish does not require a "thermal cure". * see Q&A's
It looks stunning.
It has that "feel"- many describe it as "silky", "über slick", some even say "sexy" although I had never heard that term applied to a finish before.

Many other finish offer two of the points above, some have 3 of the desired features,

Only Arm-Mor has "All of the Above".

The Mechanics Of ARM-MOR

The process begins by disassembly and degreasing your firearm. We then fixture each part, and prepare the surface. Substrate preparation is important, and we use a system which insures maximum adhesion and optimum build.

After surface prep, we hand apply the finish in 3 applications, in our specially designed atmospherically controlled, micron filtered booth, paying strict attention to layer cure, so that we are assured of optimal cross-linking between layers.

After a chemical curing time the finish is further treated by a rise/ fall heating process which final treats the surface, fluxing and cross-linking the components and giving you that "feel" for which ARM-MOR is known. The metal surfaces of your gun never exceed 300° F so heat treatment of your critical components are not a concern.

We then un-fixture each part, examining each, and reassemble your firearm. It is at this time that you are contacted for payment arrangements if you have not already prearranged this.

Your gun is packaged and returned for your use.

Pronounce it: Armor armmore armur armmur arm-more ar-mur arm-more.

We pronounce it "arm-more"- because it is more than gun (arm) armor.
